Review of this Arts and Craft November Project
I am excited about the picture frame and creating a piece of art to hang on my wall or give to a friend. My first impression is that heat embossing is fairly easy; however, it could get messy. I highly recommend protecting your work space. Since you use powders, avoid fans or breezes of any kind. My creation surprisingly created very little mess.
As a newbie to embossing, I was intimidated. I didn't know how the pen worked, the potential for a mess from the powders, and the heat from the gun. Embossing turns out to be a simple process. From my first try, I learned that I need to heat the powder a little longer. Some of it didn't get hot enough, therefore, didn't set.
This is also my first time using watercolor brushes. Clearly, I added too much water as I was going for a smoother look. Lesson learned.
I learned a lot about the embossing craft on my first try. Feeling more confident now, I will try again with some of the stencils. Looking forward to creating something I feel good about hanging on my wall or gifting.
