Deadbolt Mystery Society Game Subscription- Temple of X

Deadbolt Mystery Society is a mystery game subscription box. Each month you will receive a new mystery to solve. The games can be played by yourself or with family and friends. A device that can scan QR codes is all you need to play the game. I also find it handy to have pencil and paper too.

My February mystery is Temple of X. In this game, you will play the part of a Will Street Detective. Your job is to find some missing family members. Does the Temple of X have something to do with their disappearance? Will you find the family members before you “disappear” too? Doomsday cult, aliens, being trapped and a daring escape await.

The Box

Beginning Brief

A Beginning Brief is always included in your box. It tells you what your role is and some case background. Always read the brief first. It helps you know where to get started in the game.

In addition, the Start Here is always included. It's provides helpful information on how to play the game, hints, box contents, and more. Yes, Deadbolt has an online solutions file for each clue and puzzle if the hints don't help. Sometimes you get stuck and just want to move forward in the game.

Part 1

I call everything loose in the box part 1. This is my own term that I have made up. Once you solve all of the clues and puzzles in part 1, you can move on to part 2 when instructed.

Part 2 & 3

What I have deemed Part 2 of Temple of X is inside the envelope labeled “Sanctuary.” You will need to enter a numeric code in order to access this envelope. Once inside, you can continue to play the game.

Part 3 is the “Solution” envelope. Once you have solved the mystery in its entirety, you can open this envelope.
