Mix Box February – Frosted Sugar Cookies

Mix Box February includes ingredients and a recipe for Frosted Sugar Cookies. Everything but perishable items are included in this box. Mix Box even included some red food coloring to make the frosting pink in celebration of Valentine's Day.

Mix Box by Homemade Baker's Club is a monthly subscription box. You receive a new dessert recipe each month. Homemade Baker's Club gives you the option to choose a different recipe from a list if you don't want the scheduled box.

Leavening Agents help the cookies “puff up”. The baking soda and baking powder are what make the cookies light, not dense.

Review: Mix Box February – Frosted Sugar Cookies

The sugar cookie recipe is easy to follow. I substituted the sour cream with Greek yogurt and did not use the red food coloring.

There are no unusual ingredients to purchase. Everything was easy to find right in my local grocery store. Depending on where you live, in February 2023 eggs may be the problem ingredient.

I used an electric mixer to mix the batter. This batter is very thick so I think it would be hard to mix with a spatula or wooden spoon.

The cookies bake up light and fluffy. The texture is somewhere between cookie and cake. Even with the frosting, the cookies are not too sweet.

I made three styles of sugar cookies: no frosting, frosted with sprinkles, and frosted without sprinkles. Everyone in my family enjoyed these cookies.
