Saloon Box November 2022-Cocktail Subscription Box Review

Saloon Box is a monthly cocktail subscription. Mixologists bring you two unique drinks each month. There is enough ingredients to make two drinks per recipe and a total of 4 drinks per box. The recipes are printed on nice cards that store easily. So if you like what you taste, the ingredients can be purchased to make again. Many times, the products are organic or all-natural, and are always the highest of quality.

Saloon Box November 2022 Review

Ice Ball Tray

The ice ball tray is fantastic! I have to admit I was skeptical. I was sure this really wouldn't make round ice balls. But I was wrong. You fill the tray through holes in the top. There is a drainage hole so that you can't overfill. This allows for expansion as the water freezes, creating a round ice ball. I love this tray so much, I'm going to make two dozen ice balls and store them for the holidays.

Holiday Gin and Tonic

The Holiday Gin and Tonic with Orange Flower Water is an interesting twist to your typical Gin and Tonic cocktail. You taste the flavors of all the ingredients in this drink. The gin is nice and not unpleasantly strong. This tonic syrup is certainly more interesting than your store bought tonic water. It's sweet with a nice hint of spice (not hot spicy). The addition of the Orange Flower Water gives this gin and tonic a hint of that good old citrus fruit. I tasted the orange water straight up and it really does taste like orange blossoms. The bottle says to add it sparingly but I liked the flavor so much, I added a few more dashes to my drink.

Citrus-Passion Tiki Mule

This is an interesting twist to the traditional mule cocktail. The ginger beer lets you know this is a mule. However, the bite of ginger is cut with a nice hint of tropical fruit sweetness. I wasn't sure how the bourbon would pair with the tropical fruit flavors but with the spiced rum it seems to work. This drink is so good, I might not share it!
