Do you enjoy trying all the foods when visiting other countries? Universal Yums is a snack box subscription that sends you snacks and candies from different countries each month. October's snack box was filled with sweet, salty, or savory treats from Spain.

Let's take a look at Universal Yums' October Snack Box
Drum roll……
You never know which country you're getting. Once you open the box, the theme immediately reveals itself.
Smack dab on the top, we find an educational post card that provides fun facts about Spain. Did you know that the city of Valencia has a decorated cat hole that the city felines can go through to escape the busy city?
On the back of the card, you find a scoreboard to personally review each treat. Make this a family project. Each family member can give their personal score for each item, then based on the scores, pick the winning snack.
Universal Yums Spain snack box also had an educational booklet with all kinds of interesting facts and trivia, as well as details about each snack. Included is a QR code to so you can listen to music from Spain. Gambas al Ajillo, Spanish Garlic Shrimp is the featured recipe. Universal YUM!!
Let's dive into the snacks from Spain!
Our first item to pull from the snack box is the Acho fried egg flavored potato chips. For those with food allergies, this is a gluten free food. Universal Yums says that they are crispy on the outside, gooey on the inside. Hmmm. Not sure if I want such a texture or flavor, for that matter, in my potato chip. I'm going to “give it a go” though.
Next, in our snack gift box, we have Doble M. This sweet snack is a corn puff with honey butter flavor. Based on the description, I imagine this to be a light, sweet, and crunchy treat.
My son will love this next snack. Universal Yums included Vidal Gummi Sour Kiwi Slices. The candy even looks sour. Silver dollar sized slices appear to be coated in what looks like sugar and are soft to the touch like you would expect in a gummy snack. Allergy sufferers will like this addition to the snack box. This treat is peanut and gluten free.
Conguitos Peanut Cream appears to be a cross between a Reese's Peanut Butter Cup and Vanilla Waffer. My husband will love this snack. This full size pack which comes with two Peanut Cream bars.
Lacasitos Gold is the next sweet treat pulled from the snack box. Caramel candies coated in white chocolate sounds like a delicious alternative to Milk Duds. A four inch tall tube with a diameter similar to a quarter, provides plenty of these treats for tasting. See the taste test review on My Subscription Box Life YouTube channel.
Finally, this Universal Yums snack box came with a “yum bag” filled with two pistachio flavored toffees and two chocolate pine nut candies. Interestingly, these are both a hard candy to savor.
